Muse Wellness, LLC was founded by Lyndsay Whitaker in 2021. The name was inspired by the nine Muses in Greek mythology. In ancient Greek religion and mythology, the Muses are the inspirational goddesses of literature, science, and the arts. They were considered the source of the knowledge embodied in the poetry, lyric songs, and myths that were related orally for centuries in ancient Greek culture.

Lyndsay is credentialed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts, as well as a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC). Additionally, she is licensed to practice in Connecticut and New Hampshire. Lyndsay holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy from Lesley University.  She has worked in the mental health field since 2015, first on the memory care unit at an assisted living facility, then at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital. Since then she has worked in outpatient levels of care, and residential care for teenagers. Lyndsay is also an artist; her favorite mediums include black and white photography, collage, and pen and ink drawings. ​
